Another Shul
Rachel and I went last Shabbat to B'nai Amoona for the installation of their new rabbi, Rabbi Carnie Shalom Rose. I am so glad that I went. He is a dynamic rabbi. The shul used to be Orthodox but is now Conservative (not politically--that is the name of the movement that falls between Orthodox and Reform with regard to tradition). This was my first Conservative shul attenance.
I really loved it. People actually daven but there is also enough "togetherness" that I can follow what is going on and even participate. Somehow, I managed to be singled out and asked to help dress the Torah. After services, we stayed for a lunch Oneg, met the Rabbi and his wife (4 kids they have!).
I am interested to find out if the Conservative movement will accept mine and Alia's conversion. I am hoping they will since we went to the mikvah and studied over a year. I am really curious about this and may actually meet the rabbi to see what he says.
Other news...heard from Imakhu NeferuHethert!!! *waves* It was nice to hear from her. I am glad she answered my email! *hugs*
